City Hire, a leading equipment hire business operating in London, the Southeast, and Northwest, has just increased their investment in Kubota micro and mini excavators taking delivery of a batch of 12 machines from Tring based Boss Plant Sales Limited the Kubota dealer for London and the southeast.
City Hire purchased their first Kubota excavator in 2017 and now operate a fleet of 40 excavators, all Kubota’s, in the 0.8 to 3.0 tonne range. In 2022 City Hire added 22 new Kubota’s to their fleet. The latest machines are 6 K008-5, 4 U17-3, and 2 U27-4GL. All the machines are fitted with the auxiliary hydraulic circuit, hydraulic quick hitches and supplied with a range of digging and ditching buckets. City hire own and operate many Socomec hydraulic breakers, also supplied by Boss Plant, which are regularly hired out alongside a Kubota.
City Hire operate from a Headquarters office and spacious yard, in Southall adjacent to the M4 near Heathrow, with distribution centres in Dagenham and Liverpool. City Hire has a wide and varied customer base which includes house builders, civil engineers, commercial builders, and interiors contractors. Kubota equipment is very well received by the customer base due to its performance, reliability, economy, and intuitive and familiar controls.
Company Director Lionel Burgess commented on delivery “Our excavator fleet is 100% Kubota and it’ll stay that way. Our customers ask for Kubota excavators by model and the machines are always well received. From an operational point of view Kubota’s are extremely reliable with low operating costs. And after 3 or 4 years the residual values are exceptional.”
